Tonight I was scanning the bands and I heard a single CQ at 22:46 local on 14.238 from WA0HHX.
Never heard him again but looked up on QRZ to see where it was coming from. He was in Stillwell, Kansas.
On his QRZ page I found this lovely information on the solar cycle of which we have many conversations with new hams about.
July 1, 2019: Spaceweather.com-reports that the first sunspots of Cycle 25 briefly emerged, then disappeared on July 1st. The polarity and location were indicative of spots from the new cycle.
Dec. 24, 2019: Two new cycle 25 sunspots appear. Spaceweather.com comments that the previous sunspots of cycle 25 observed in July along with these two new spots indicate that cycle 25 is proceeding normally; that speculation that the significant absense of sunspots is the beginning of a “Maunder” like extended minimum are unfounded; that the Cycle will peak in 2025.

These pictures nicely sum it up and back up many a conversation.
