Essential Antenna Maintenance

Winter Antenna work at VA3SII. Relocation of the far end of my efhw antenna.
Earlier this year my endfed halfwave (efhw on 40) had to be relocated down to the fence when the city (council) came and removed a very convenient antenna support tree. This was because they put a bus stand on the grass next to it and some dead branches could possibly fall. Its a bit of a cop out on their part as in the main the tree was very healthy. I guess they didnt want to be sued so eliminated the risk. For me, no more antenna support.
I have moved the end up into another tree in this video.
Demonstrating, ham use of improvisation on making bracketry. Utility rope used here has no part number on the spool is from Atwood Rope Manufacturing atwoodrope.com Its described as 1/16in x 100ft (1.6mm x 30m) 110lb Test 50kg and is UV resistant. Its survived about 5 Canadian winters and summers so far, and gets my rating.
Again use of improvisation with painters poles and hard disk magnet to get high up, approx 28ft (3x 8ft telescoped length plus lifting height)
Whatever you do, always remember “safety first”
